Yahoo! The first cut of the programming for Costume Con 26 is up! It's rough, with a gap to be filled in here and there, but most of the daytime schedule is available. We have a broad selection of excellent presenters, workshops, and retrospectives lined up for you.

Some tasty samples:
Learn more about being in front of the camera... or behind it.
Take a gander at the costumes of Venice Carnivale, and the lifetime work of costumers like the MacDermotts and Pettingers!
Investigate historical patterns or era-appropriate moustaches! Explore the evolution of uniforms.
How do those cosplay headpieces work? How do you craft gadgets... and transport them?
Find out how to make lace, space suits, or embellish shoes... and so much more.

You can also check out the main
events and contests, as well as the social activities. And don't forget to line up your hotel room!

Hi there. This is your reminder that the September 1 deadline for
applications for the Costume-Con 26 Dealers Room is coming up soon. The deadline for
applications is SEPTEMBER 1, 2007. This is when applications are due, and
it's the latest postmark that will be accepted.

Costume-Con 26 will use a juried system for filling the Dealers Room. Any
dealers who miss the deadline or are not among the first selected to receive
tables will be placed on a waiting list and will be notified if any tables
become available. (NOTE: no fees will be due until you are notified of your
selection. You will be notified whether or not your application has been
accepted.)

Need an application form? Drop by the Dealers Room page at the Costume-Con
26 web site: _http://www.cc26.info/main.php?section=program&page=dealers_
(http://www.cc26.info/main.php?section=program&page=dealers) . All forms can be
downloaded from our site.

We're looking forward to having a great convention, and we'd love to have
you in our Dealers Room... but first, you gotta apply! Let us know if you have
any questions.

Greetings from the Costume Continuum!

Costume-Con 26 is coming to Silicon Valley in April 2008. Believe it or not, our first contest deadline is creeping up, and we know you don't want to miss it! If you want to register for the "Project Folio" challenge, you only have until August 15th, 2007 to do so. Other designs must be postmarked by September 15. Check out the Future Fashion Folio for more information.

The Single Pattern Contest rules have changed. In addition to the Single Pattern design category in the Fashion Folio, there will be judging of constructed garments at the convention in the same manner as in past years. Make sure to read about it on the website.

A  hint from the Evil Geniuses running the Future Fashion Folio and Show: We are really fond of Dr. Seuss. Now what could a costumer do with that...? Search the Folio rules for more suggestions.

Finally, we want to let you know hotel room reservations are in full swing! You can now reserve a room at the Doubletree at the con rate for three days before and after our stellar gathering of costume aficionados.  Sorry, the suites are already sold out, but there are plenty of king-size and double-queen bed rooms left.

Costume-Con is a premiere venue for professional and hobbyist costumers to meet, compete, share, and socialize. To register online, or for further information on Costume-Con 26, please visit our website at
http://www.cc26.info.

Please forward freely!

If so, CC26 marketing needs you!

We're doing pretty well with fliers and trifolds and advertisements... but we need to spread the word further! On-line social communities are a big part of where networking happens these days.

Are you on MySpace everyday, or do you know someone who is (and is also into costuming)? Know where all the costumers hang out on Flickr? Know the places to check out on Facebook? If so, will you help out by creating a presence
for CC26 there, and/or posting our promotional emails?

Please feel free to forward this request to friends you think might be interested. :-) You can email me at marcom@CC26.info, as well as just reply here.

Of course, CC26 members receive a copy in the mail – if you’re not a member, you can register online and be sure of getting the next PR delivered directly to your door, as well as being able to get in on the education, competition, art, and pleasure of spending a weekend with fellow costumers and costume lovers!

Room reservations for Costume-Con 26 at the DoubleTree San Jose Hotel
are now open!

*How to reserve your room for Costume-Con 26:*
Room rates are $92.00 for single through quad occupancy. You can to make
reservations online at www.dtsj.com, www.doubletree.com or at
www.hilton.com. Please use group code C26 to get the Costume-Con 26
rate. In addition, we will soon have a link from the Costume-Con website
to our own personalized reservations page.

You can also make reservations by calling the Doubletree's toll free
reservation number, 800-222-TREE (8733) or by calling the Doubletree San
Jose directly at 408-453-4000 and mentioning Costume-Con 26.

*Special Room Blocking Requests*
If you want your room blocked near someone else, please have that noted
in the comments for your reservation and then email our hotel liaison
Dave Gallaher at hotel@cc26.info with your reservation number(s) and the
rooms you want blocked together.

Similarly, if you want a room on our
party floor (the 2nd floor, in the wing near our Hospitality Suite),
note it in the comments for your reservation, and email hotel@cc26.info
with your request.

*Suites*
There are (a very few) parlor suites and one presidential suite
available at the DoubleTree at our negotiated rate of $155. Most (not
all) suites have a single king-size bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in
the parlor, with a second connecting bedroom available for the cost of
the additional room. All of the suites are on the 9th and 10th
(concierge) floors which have restricted access; in particular, there
are no suites on the party floor.

The rooms at the DoubleTree are quite
large; you may find a pair of connecting guest rooms a reasonable
alternative to a suite. The reservations system does not properly
reflect our negotiated suite rate: if you want to reserve a suite, email
Dave Gallaher at hotel@cc26.info with your request; and he will handle
them on a first-come, first-served basis.

Feel free to repost or forward this announcement in its entirety!
