Yeh, I don't support the Sir/boy contest either, on principal as well. There are so many great boot blacks and interest in Boot Blacking, I wonder if we'll see the Sir/boy contest drop in NorCal and the Boot Black go on...that would be cool.
I know PNW bucked the national rules and let all males participate...I just think last years small turn out at DNA lounge and what you described this year is the slow demise of this title locally ...but I do hope the Boot Black title continues.
