my gmail was hacked

How do I know this?

Because Google sent me a warning/inquiry message, listing the IP and assorted odd log in times (like five minutes previous to reading, where I would've been on the freeway). So I changed my password.

I have no idea of course if said hacker acquired any other passwords through inspecting my mail. Guess I'll be finding out. Hopefully not.

Anyhow, pretty cool Google noticed and notified me.

listen to Pandora or Radio Paradise or anything similar?

Internet radio needs help. The Copyright Royalty Board in Washington, DC has nearly tripled the licensing fees for Internet radio sites. The new royalty rates are irrationally high, more than four times what satellite radio pays and broadcast radio doesn't pay these at all.

I can guess what that means for the future of internet radio. :-(

The SaveNetRadio Coalition has been formed, a group that includes listeners, artists, labels and webcasters.  Sign their petition urging your Congressional representative to act to save Internet radio: http://capwiz.com/saveinternetradio/issues/alert/?alertid=9631541

network neutraility

http://civic.moveon.org/alerts/savetheinternet.html

The meat of the argument is quote from the New York Times near the bottom of the page.

I am just amazed that the backbone providers think a tiered delivery (coming from payments them) system is a good/reasonable idea. I guess it's all just another money stream to them. I truly do not understand thinking that way.

If anyone knows more about this, I'd be interested to hear.
