Monday after wine
Jan. 10th, 2005 02:48 pmI had a really nice low key weekend. Got Rod to go wine tasting with me in Livermore. We went to about four wineries. Had a lot of fun at Bent Creek and Cedar Mountain especially. A merlot futures purchase from last year has turned into wine, which is very cool.
I watched De-Lovely, which Wyatt had loaned me. It is a musical biopic about Cole Porter (staring Kevin Kline, whom I really like). I was really impressed how the music was part of the story, and part of the artist's life. I can't speak to the accuracy of the story, but I thought for a movie it did a fine job of presenting bisexuality (especially in its time); the different mixes of intimacy and sexuality. Very nice to see bi done in a much less tawdry style. Yea.
I got some very nice blue-colored red wine glasses from a friend (late holiday gift). The thing is, they are too tall for my cupboard. Ah well, I am looking forward to checking them out.
Someone suggested I post asking leatherfolk where to get leather working tools, since Tandy no longer has stores (yes I could mail order). My garage was burglarized just before Christmas, and the leather working tools are the most problematic to replace (probably a flea market). I just need awls, carving stuff, strap cutters, boards, etc., the basics.
And joining in my friend's silliness: (thanks Andy for the HTML in LJ help):
