"A family of four is considered poor if its annual income is less than $20,650." (from the New York Times, talking about how states are trying to get health care coverage to poor kids)

... one person can't live reasonably on that in the bay area. unless maybe they're on a full scholarship somewhere.

I am so thankful for not having to try to live on that.
