The sunrise was beautiful...

huge, shimmery golden sun, a quarter of the way up the sky when I  looked out the window. I was struck by the golden quality of the light.

And that quality still exists. Due to the smoke in the air. :/  Eyes and noses itch. Reminds me hundreds of fires are burning in CA. One - or  more - must be near here.

I bicycled downtown two Fridays ago in the most awesome, the most edge of Mordor gold and red red red sunset you ever saw. Stunning and creepy. All due to the huge pall of smoke finally making it over the Santa Cruz mountains. 

I wish rest and clean air for the exhausted-too-early-this-year firefighters.

And the plums are ripening in the old orchards down the trail.

 

HRC Info/Thoughts?

I see HRC is actually contributing dollars to Maryland's ongoing battle to keep their gender non-discrimination law. This is interesting.

HRC also talks about 'working with' assorted large rights orgs in New York and about the upcoming trans health discussion at the House, but does not say exactly how they are 'working with,' and goes so far to say they'll let us know what's going on once participants and such are selected. Giving me the vibe they are not involved in those processes at all.

Anyone have more details? Are they beginning to walk the walk? Or is this lil diversions?
