Do you know how to pull the thermostat? Does you car even have a thermostat? If it does, pull it, put it in a pot of water and bring it up to a boil--it should change state, i.e., it should open(if I'm remembering this correctly). If it doesn't, than it's a simple "replace the thermostat" kind of fix.
