The Billy DeFrank LGBT Center will be hosting San Jose's Transgender Day of Remembrance in the Grand Ballroom on November 20th at 7 p.m.
The theme of the evening will be "Four Years of Progress." The evening will focus on highlighting the substantial progress made in understanding and protecting transgender people. Speaking at the event will be Jamison Green, the well known author of "Becoming a Visible Man," Assemblywoman Sally Lieber, sponsor of the Justice for Victim Act that prevents "gay panic" defense, and Imelda Guerrero, Gwen Araujo's aunt. The evening will conclude with a reading of names for those who lost their lives due to hate crimes this past year.
Please come and be a part of this moving community event.
