from answers.com: cor·tege also cor·tège (kôr-tĕzh') pronunciation
n.
  1. A train of attendants, as of a distinguished person; a retinue.
    1. A ceremonial procession.
    2. A funeral procession.

Went to see Corteo last night. According to Cirque, it's supposed to be a clown's dream or imagining, of his funeral, as far as I could tell, it wasn't just that. ;-)

In any case, who cares?! It tickled my sense of wonder and made me laugh multiple times. Pillow fights and bed trampolines and a troupe of very funny jugglers, a woman floating from giant balloons who crashed into the walls of the wonderful big top, and some beautiful air work... yea! (hmm, can a circus show have spoilers??) The show is indeed more "approachable", more traditionally circus-like, than most of their shows, and just as delightful. It took longer for the music to impress me, but by the second half I was impressed indeed. :-) Unfortunately, no soundtrack was available. The chotchkes were as usual prohibitively expensive.

I wonder where they get the cool colorful shoes? Probably they'd last two days in street wear, but I can dream. Lots of cool costumes of course. And props and and and...!

It was also a very nice snip at the thread of depression I've been dealing with for the last week or two... I slept well last night.
