Diana Wynne Jones

I am sad to hear today (on the excellent Coode Street podcast), that Diana Wynne Jones has passed. I loved many of her books, and always planned to go read some more. Still do.

Always thought that her books would make a fine basis for a contemporary kid's fantasy movies.

Actually, one did. Miyazaki's "Howl's Moving Castle" is bsaed on DWJ's book of the same name.

Yeah, I loved the film; didn't know it was based on one of her movies at the time! Was thinking more of her witchy gypsy-esque kids; Harry Potter-y types of films. :-)
