Date: 2006-06-13 03:34 pm (UTC)Drop me a line at lobolance@gmail.com if you don't want to 'reveal' yourself here. :-)
And re your post... wow, that's an intense situation, highly personal. I understand completely how you responded when someone else started messing with the cover, and your own confusion about how to deal with it. I will share some of my thoughts, take them as you will.
My main response is to want to ask you a lot of questions about where you're at *now*. Does the idea of wearing the cover make you feel connected? I suspect motogrrl would like it if you wore it and felt connected and proud of yourself as a leather bottom. Perhaps wearing it can be in part an hommage to her, and in part a way of stepping into your own leather identity?
OTOH, if the idea of putting it on... or say you try it and this is your response... makes you feel disconnected, out of your place, then let it be part of your leather altar (or personal equivalent thereof).
You have every right in the world to define/represent yourself as you choose. Re wearing leathers, and earning them/right to wear them, if you find a top one day who is into that, s/he can always after-the-fact give you methods/tasks to earn the leathers as part of your service, giving them extra value in your experience and your relationship. However, I think there is much to be said for having some of the 'flags' yourself, as part of your leather self, your own healthy pride. I don't think you would turn off prospective tops/masters/etc by wearing the leathers which suit you.
This is a conversation that could go on for a long time. :-) You can see all the questions in it. Be gentle with yourself, that is my motto for the year.
Regards.

Date: 2006-06-13 03:57 pm (UTC)You are a wonderfully complex and interesting person, and strange as any of us. ;-)
I am now reminded of an occasion where my cover fell down and you hid your eyes. :-)
Anyhow, I hope some of what I wrote helps you sort out what works for you.
Hug.
