The Simple Dollar blog today has a guest post by the author of 'Your Money or Your Life'. Really good stuff on living, needs, and finances.

At the Make Fair this year there was a start up for a website to do sharing/loaning. I forget the name right now. It is of course San Francisco mostly so far, but I really like the idea. I'll loan you my sewing machine for a day, and that guy will loan me his cherry picker, and... I do wonder how broken/repairs work in those kinds of situations (whereas in  shared housing situations, I'd set up a fund everyone pitches in to).

I also look at this sort of thing as financial decluttering... cutting back to what matters/what fits/what's right now.

Announcing The Leather Events Review!

http://community.livejournal.com/l_event_review/

Please join and start talking about the events you attend.

For a good amount of time now, I've been playing with the idea of starting a leather events review blog. The idea is to (finally) have a place where leather folks can offer constructive criticism as well as praise of events we attend, as well as simply describe events so the next person thinking about attending might have some idea of what to look forward to. Maybe event organizers might even get some useful ideas before going through all the work of putting on an event themselves (I know that's something I'm hoping for). :-)

I've bounced the idea off of a number of people, and gotten a lot of interest, so I've created the community.

Yes, there will be a picture soon!
