Went to a splendid 70 minutes (no break) play Saturday night, at the Off Market theater in San Francisco; http://www.cafearts.com/santaland2006/.

It was a one-man show on a minimalist little stage. More impressive and effective use of Christmas lights I've never seen! :-)

David Sinaiko did a fine job. There was little space between the actor and the front row, and I was really impressed how apparently effortlessly he handle numerous occasions of looking 'at' someone in the audience. He did a wonderful job of creating the sense of being in different space, though the use of two black cubes and one Santa chair. :-) The play is very funny. It has minor and amusing gay content; less than I would've guessed from the photos on the website.

The little house was packed, which was very cool. The play deserved it. I think the run is nearly over... catch it one day if you get the opportunity. When you consider that we saw it AFTER the holidays, and I'm recommending it now, you'll know how funny it was!

Hairspray!

San Jose Musical Theater's production of *Hairspray* rocked! Fabulous. The performances were just full of energy, the story and scenes moved from one to the next with nary a pause. Most of the performances were wonderful. I have to go look up some of the lyrics! See it if you can.

...this came about as a treat from the deFrank. The showing was in part a fund raiser for the center. They had a couple pairs of tickets available for volunteers, and I scored one. Huzzah! Volunteering pays off in lots of ways. LMAO

Beforehand, I did my weekly yoga, also at the deFrank. I really enjoy the class, it always goes too quickly! (save of course I was in vroom mode last night). I really like Conni's use of 'setting an intention,' which is something other than a goal or resolution... finding something you want to 'be,' and setting it into yourself. I did that with 'be gentle with myself and others' at the New Year, and it stuck with me. I hope last nights (around cherishing and love) does as well. Sounds hoaky as shit but is really pretty cool.

And Wyatt, my guest for the evening, showed up with dinner! Now, that rocks. I felt hugged.
