existential Trans March '09

Is it really a march when no one can see you or hear you?
What is 'visbility'?
Is this the end of the march? What are they saying up there? Have we done this poor a job of getting across to the next generation what a pride/visibility march is?
These and other questions were asked by those of us bemused to be standing in the middle of 26th St. in San Francisco on Friday.
Fortunately our bemusement ran to silliness.
I enjoyed being visibly leather.
Such was my Pride this year.
I also wore an old San Jose Pride tank top (bottom layer) while walking (ever so slowly... perhaps 'dawdling' is a better word) across the Golden Gate Bridge on Saturday, part of a friend's birthday celebration. I saw about three other queer people. I was surprised, I expected hordes. The visiting queers were being proud elsewhere. :-)
